Calgary's Sled Island Music Festival kicked off the month with the announcement that party rocker Andrew W.K. and local musician Danny Vacon would curate its 2012 edition, and now organizers have announced a handful of big-name acts playing this year's event.

Sled Island recently revealed that some of the major players arriving in Cowtown between June 20 and 23 include hometown hero and iconic Canadian chanteuse Feist, as well as current Exclaim! cover star and electro-pop phenom Grimes. Also appearing to rep the country are spooky folksters Timber Timbre.

U.S. acts set to play the fest include the recently reunited Archers of Loaf, alternative legend Thurston Moore, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks and working-class heroes the Hold Steady. Unsurprisingly, it's also been revealed that Andrew W.K. will perform as well.

On June 22, Feist and Timber Timbre will headline the outdoor show at Olympic Plaza, while on June 23 the Hold Steady and Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks will lead the day's festivities.

Tickets for those two outdoor events will cost $45 for each day and go on sale via Ticketmaster on Saturday (March 3) at 10 a.m. MST. You can also go to Sled Island's website to get a festival pass. The standard "Festival Discovery Pass," which provides all-access to over 30 venues, is going for the discount rate of $179 and the "Festival Discovery Plus Pass" goes for $299 until March 31.
