Published Jul 29, 2013Multitalented Calgary songwriter Jean Sebastien Audet is still in high school, but he already makes music with a number of projects, including his band Faux Fur. The outfit's self-titled album was released today (July 29) on Bandcamp.
The album's 10 tracks sport overdriven riffs, reverb-cloaked pop melodies and dense guitar arrangements that recall fellow Calgarians Women (not coincidentally, the band features Andy Flegel on drums, who is the brother of Women's Pat and Matt Flegel). It was recorded and mixed by Scott Munro, and its complex odd-pop ditties are good enough to make you forgot that the songwriter behind them is a teenager.
It's available as a pay-what-you-want (including free) download.
