Father John Misty

"Real Love Baby"

Father John Misty has fashioned a reputation for himself as a professional troll, from his Velvet Underground-inspired Taylor Swift covers to made-up stories about his air horn contributions to Beyoncé's Lemonade to an "Is he for real?" demo song for a Prius commercial just this week.

Despite all that, the man born Joshua Tillman has now shared a surprisingly straightforward sonic offering in the form of a brand new tune. Titled "Real Love Baby," the track is a jangly folk-pop ode to warm and fuzzy feelings.

Give it a listen in the player below, because in the words of Father John Misty himself: "Why not?"
