Fast Romantics

'Afterlife Blues' (album stream)

BY Matthew RitchiePublished Oct 1, 2013

It's been a couple years since ambitious indie rock troupe Fast Romantics provided us with any full-length material. But after a three-year recording hiatus, the anthemic five-piece is ready to change all that with their long-awaited sophomore LP, Afterlife Blues, which you can stream in full ahead of its October 8 release through Pipe & Hat.

Joining forces again with producer Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, Mother Mother) for their second full-length, the band decided to steer away from their Canadian contemporaries and blaze a sonic trail through the American heartland, delivering Springsteen-indebted pomp rock ("Funeral Song"), avant-garde doo-wop ("90s Life") and Spoon-inspired rhythms (the album's title-track.)

Listen to the album in the player below and don't forget to catch Fast Romantics as they embark on their first North American tour later this October. You can also pre-order Afterlife Blues here.

UPDATE: This stream was available for one week only and is no longer available.
