Fan-Tan

"Window" (video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 10, 2013

Most of the influences cited in Fan-Tan's press materials date back to the '70s and '80s (including My Bloody Valentine, Gang of Four, Suicide, and the Jesus and Mary Chain), so it's only natural that the Brooklyn-based band's video for "Window" showcases some special effects that look charmingly retro.

The quirky clip contains some corny computer animation, and you'll also see outdated images such as former president Reagan, a vintage PC and some kids who look like they wandered out of a Nirvana video. The song itself has a classic post-punk vibe, although a tuneful pop cut like this would sound good in any era.

"Window" comes from Fan-Tan's A Strange Game LP, due out this March through Goodnight Records.
