The Famines Collect Singles on New LP

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jul 21, 2011

With one member living in Edmonton and another in Montreal, it's incredible that Canadian garage punk duo the Famines can get anything done. If frontman Raymond Biesinger's enormous musical chart and tour-booking pamphlet are any indication, however, the group are getting by on detail-oriented organizational skills. They've also got a blistering batch of songs, a fact that will be emphasized with their new singles compilation later this year.

Simply titled Complete Collected Singles 2008-2010, the LP includes 11 of the Famines' hits from their various seven-inch singles and cassettes. Even if you're an avid collector of their releases, opening tracks "Hi Hi Hi" and "Faux Famous" will be new to you, as they previously only existed as live recordings.

Mammoth Cave Recording Co. will issue Complete Collected Singles 2008-2010 on November 10. The release will be followed by a ten-date tour through Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. All confirmed dates are available below.
