Falls Apart The Distance Between Us

Falls Apart are one of those bands that are probably destined to get lost amidst a sea of other bands that just aren't as talented as them. They don't really have anything to make them stand out at all, with strummed acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies it is hard to put your finger on exactly what Falls Apart do. It isn't quite indie pop or alt-country but some kind of quiet combination of the two that has some real character of its own. As album titles go, The Distance Between Us has become particularly appropriate for Falls Apart, because the two band members have just moved to separate cities, making the logistics of the band continuing in the form represented by the CD seem increasingly difficult. And that's a real pity because what could be the last will and testament of Falls Apart is a pleasantly understated little album. (Independent)
