After stepping away from the band ahead of the release of their new album So Much (for) Stardust earlier this year, Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman has announced his return to the lineup.

"Hey everyone, I'm officially back!" Trohman wrote in an Instagram post yesterday (May 29). "I want to thank everyone for the love and support while I took some time away to focus on my brain and get healthy for my family, my friends and myself."

He added, "I also want to thank Ben Young for stepping up and filling in on the shows I missed — he is a true gentleman and a scholar," referring to FOB's longtime guitar tech, who has stepped in for the guitarist at concerts since his departure. "I'm stoked to be back in action and I can't wait to see everyone on tour this summer!"

Fall Out Boy's summer North American tour is slated to begin next month and includes a sole Canadian date at Toronto's Budweiser Stage on July 30.

Back in January, Trohman had cited "rapidly deteriorating mental health" as his reasoning for taking some time away from the band.
