Fabolous to Drop 'The Young OG Project' on Christmas

Back in the summer, Brooklyn rap artist Fabolous revealed he was putting work into a new LP called The Young OG Project. Now, the veteran MC has announced he plans to be stuffing the song cycle into virtual stocking's this holiday season, having now given the record a Christmas due date on iTunes.

Though a tracklisting has yet to appear, Fabolous told MTV that the album is "very '90s-inspired and '90s-themed." He further explained in a video interview/trailer, which you'll find down below, that some songs flip vintage beats, while other tracks are inspired by the decade's rap sounds.

"It was a golden era in hip-hop to me. It was where I fell in love with hip-hop and really admired everything that was going on within the culture," Fabolous explained.

He added: "I was introduced to hip-hop in the '80s but the '90s is when it flourished and you saw different people, different styles and different regions emerge — it was a very diverse and versatile time and that's another reason why it sticks to me."

While info has yet to be revealed in full, the first leak from the project will be new tune "Lituation."

Fabolous had been working on an LP called Loso's Way 2, a follow-up to 2009's Loso's Way, but those plans had been shelved in the summer in order to focus on The Young OG Project.
