"Papa Hobo" (Paul Simon cover)

Vampire Weekend's Paul Simon fixation is no secret, as the band's most obvious influence is the songwriter's 1986 classic Graceland. So it makes perfect sense that Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig covered Simon for the new film Ceremony, which arrives in cinemas tomorrow (April 8).

Click below to listen to Koenig's version of "Papa Hobo," which originally appeared on Simon's 1972 eponymous solo debut. Unlike the upbeat, Afro-inflected pop rock that Vampire Weekend are usually known for, Koenig's solo turn is a gentle acoustic waltz filled with rootsy instrumentation and quiet melancholy.
