Eyeliners

Sealed With A Kiss

BY Craig DanielsPublished Nov 1, 2001

Sister act the Eyeliners play punk in the now overly worn modern "pop" style, and I, for one, am very, very sick of it. There is absolutely nothing original or clever about it, and that doesn't really bother me as much as the lack of any real emotion or passion infused into it. An old form can be fresh again if the performer throws themselves into it enough, but this is the audio equivalent of sleepwalking. It's just more refuse from the NOFX/Green Day giant shit factory known as California. One song even features some incredibly flat, off-key vocals by "legendary punk" Ben Weasel. Is that how this guy always sings? It's terrible! It's a wonder that he's not banned from every recording studio in North America. This might as well be the fucking Grease 2 soundtrack, for Christ's sake.
