Eyehategod

Southern Discomfort

BY Sean PalmerstonPublished Feb 1, 2000

Seeing how it was less than a year ago that Eyehategod supposedly called it a day, it is really nice to be reviewing a brand new release and to know the band will touring again soon. And while Southern Discomfort does little as far as offering new material for fans, it is a nice little compendium of harder to get material and rarities. Containing previously-released tracks from scarce EPs on the Bovine and Slap-A-Ham labels, as well as some unreleased album outtakes and alternative cuts, the collection should hold fans over until they get into the studio to record some new material. But then again, knowing their track record, both on record and on the road, maybe we should just all be happy we have this little gem to get fucked up to in the meantime.
