Eyedea & Abilities Hit the Road with New Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 27, 2009

Longstanding Rhymesayers hip-hop duo Eyedea & Abilities may be a little confused about spelling but they are certainly at the top of their game when it comes to putting out quality records. So it's kind of a big deal that on July 21 the pair will issue their first album since 2004's E & A.

Aggressively titled By the Throat, the record's press release promises "rock-fueled guitar riffs, gritty production and melodic songwriting" alongside "intensely personal topics to the more esoteric (quantum mechanics)." To see how this translates you can hear album track "This Story" here.

In the meantime, the group will embark on a decent North American tour that will kick off on June 27 and include stops in Toronto and Vancouver.

Eyedea and Abilities tour dates:
6/27 Chicago, IL - First Midwest Bank Amphitheater
6/28 Detroit, MI - DTE Energy Music Theatre
