Alberta is becoming fertile ground for music fests, from Sled Island and Wyrd to the MTT Fest. Another notch in the belt will hit later this month when Edmonton rapper Joe "the Joe" Gurba presents a provincial tour known as the Swig of Alberta, which will run from March 30 to April 1 and hit up Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton.

As explained on the festival website, the purpose of the travelling show is to unite the province. "We're in love with every flourishing scene in Alberta and we want to see them holding hands," the festival announcement reads. "Hopefully in the future we can expand this to include more stops than just Edmonton, Calgary, and Lethbridge but for now, here are our humble first fruits!"

The inaugural fest will include performances from Extra Happy Ghost!!!, Jessica Jalbert, the Joe, Mitchmatic, Jesse and the Dandelions, Stalwart Sons, the Record Holder and Red Rum Triumph in all three cities. Michael Rault and Brenna Lowrie will join the bill in Lethbridge, while Wand and Tops will join up in Edmonton and Daydream Johnny plays in Calgary and Lethbridge.

The Lethbridge date takes place on March 30, while the Calgary show goes down on March 31 and the Edmonton gig happens on April 1.

More information, including a link to buy tickets, is available on the official festival site.
