Published Jan 11, 2008As Kenyas political situation worsens, Opiyo Bilongo, Onyango Wuod Omari and Onyango Jagwasi, three members of Extra Golden, who hail from Nairobi, have made a plea for help to aid their extended families, whose collective well being is being threatened by the countrys currently volatile climate. The three members are looking to fans for donations in their time of need.
As musicians, they earn their living playing gigs at clubs and other venues. Due to the dusk-to-dawn curfew currently in place, theyve been unable to work and are living hand-to-mouth. Theyve been forced to leave their homes, which have since been looted, while their families have little to no food or clean water. With the countrys bleak political outlook, its unknown when theyll be able to resume playing or return to their homes.
