Explosions in the Sky to Score David Gordon Green's 'Prince Avalanche'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 13, 2012

Post-rock favourites Explosions in the Sky are still out on the road in support of last year's epic Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, but once their tour dates wrap in the summer, the instrumental outfit will get cracking on a new film score for the upcoming movie Prince Avalanche.

Guitarist Munaf Rayani confirmed that Explosions in the Sky will score director David Gordon Green's (All the Girls, Pineapple Express) comedy, which is set to be released sometime in 2013.

"It's pretty serendipitous that I am speaking to you now because a film is currently being made by film maker David Gordon Green," Rayani explained to Consequence of Sound. "We will be scoring his latest film Prince Avalanche. This particular picture is going to be exceptionally beautiful in that we're making it with friends of ours."

Prince Avalanche will star Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. The film is a remake of the 2011 Icelandic road trip flick Either Way, which is set in the 1980s and centres on the relationship between two highway maintenance men.
