Exmortem Pestilence Empire

They look kinda silly with all those bullet belts on, but Denmark's Exmortem are no laughing matter, as the 33 blistering minutes of Pestilence Empire prove. As can be expected from Osmose, no-holds-barred death metal is the order of the day here, complete with the bass-heavy guttural production, Cookie Monster vox and relentless blast beats. So yes, another great but generic death metal release, excellent for die-hard death metal types but a snoozer for those looking for some sort of innovation in their tunes. Sometimes innovation falls wayside to such powerful drumming, catchy riffs and high energy though. And hey, four albums in, Exmortem do it so well that it doesn't really matter that we've all heard it before. (Osmose)
