Exclusive: Vivian Girls' Kickball Katy Details Robbery, Finds Her Clothes in a Trash Can but Now Without a MacBook and Passport

Earlier today, we posted a story about a robbery that took place on the Vivian Girls' recent Californian tour. The details were sketchy, but we've now received word that it was bass player Kickball Katy who was the victim.

In an email to Exclaim!, she wrote, "My bags were stolen while we were in Oakland, I ran down the street and found all my clothes in a trash can, which was a nice surprise. They had gotten away with my messenger bag with my laptop, passport and running shoes. But 15 minutes later I saw someone pushing a shopping cart of stuff down the street and I saw my bag lying right on top of the pile. So I called the cops, they found the bag with the shoes in it, so I got those back too. However, I never got my MacBook or passport."

As we suspected, the problem here is that the band were planning to play overseas next week. This now means that Katy has to shift into warp-speed and will be forced to meet with passport officers.

"I had to arrange a passport meeting in Honolulu for Tuesday and my dad had to go on a mini road trip to Long Island to get a new copy of my birth certificate and overnight it to Hawaii, but I think everything will end up working out fine," she explains. "We are definitely all OK, and I plan on being in Japan and Australia next week with everyone else!" she adds. "In terms of being 'robbed,' this was definitely not the worst thing that could have happened, so for that we are all thankful."
