Ex-Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante in the Studio Working on New Solo LP

John Frusciante hasn't exactly been prolific since announcing his departure from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as he hasn't released a solo LP since 2009's The Empyrean. That may soon change, however, as R&B singer Share Watson (aka Truth Hurts) posted a studio update confirming that she's been in the studio with Frusciante.

Last week (December 29), Watson took to her Twitter account to write, Just finished another session with John Frusciante formerly of RHCP." She subsequently wrote, "What a session what a lesson ;-) good times making music! learn so much from this man! Blessed to b surrounded by the musical co. I have n my career."

She also posted a photo of the two collaborators, which you can see above.

Hopefully the album arrives soon, since we're starting to get impatient. Evidently quitting the RHCP hasn't improved John's productivity; back in 2004-2005, he released 5 LPs plus an EP (and an album with his band Ataxia) within less than 12 months, and that was while he was still a Chili Pepper.

Thanks to Stadium Arcadium for the heads-up.
