It's been a tough week for alt-rock bass players. Following the arrest of Coheed and Cambria four-stringer Michael Todd for alleged armed robbery, former Queens of the Stone Age/Kyuss and current Kyuss Lives! bassist Nick Oliveri was reportedly arrested after a standoff with a SWAT team.

TMZ reports that neighbours called the police on Oliveri to report a "disturbance" between the 39-year-old and his girlfriend at their L.A. home Tuesday night (July 12). According to "sources," his girlfriend later told police that he had hit her the day before, and she was back at their apartment gathering her things to move out, but Oliveri had locked her in and wouldn't let her leave.

When police got to the scene, Oliveri still refused to let anyone in or allow his girlfriend to leave. A SWAT team was then called, and a two-hour standoff ensued before he finally let her go. Two hours after that, he gave himself up. Searching his home, police allegedly found a fully loaded high-powered rifle.

Oliveri was arrested for felony domestic violence. He is currently out on $100,000 bail.
