Published Nov 27, 2008Former Pipette Rose Elinor Dougall has announced the first details of her newly embarked upon solo career. So far they include: dropping the name Rosay, releasing a single and setting out on a UK tour, all without the help of polka dots.
Her debut single, "Another Version of Pop Song, is set to drop on December 8 in the UK courtesy of Scarlett Records. It will come as both a download and a limited-edition seven-inch (500 copies), which will feature an exclusive remix by Chris Rotter. If youd like to hear "Another Version of Pop Song now, its currently streaming on Dougalls MySpace page.
Heres what Dougall had to say to NME about her new single:
"After being in the Pipettes, which was very much based around the idea of writing 'pop' songs, I was thinking about how those processes and ideas related to my own personal songwriting now, being outside of that structure, and this is something that came out of that time.
On the concert front, Dougall has several shows lined up for this month and next, but none in North America. Theres also no word yet on if shes planning to make the trek over here or if a full-length is on the horizon.
