Ex-Gallows Frontman Frank Carter to Release Pure Love's Debut Next Year

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 16, 2011

Earlier this week, we learned that Gallows, now featuring former Alexisonfire guitarist Wade MacNeil on vocals, are ready to issue an "unapologetic hardcore punk" EP in December. Fans of the English outfit's original singer Frank Carter got some good news as well, as he announced his new Pure Love project is in the studio and set to release their debut in 2012.

A series posts on Carter's blog show that the musician is currently hard at work in the studio on the troupe's debut, and he even tweeted a rough ETA for when we can expect to blast the new tunes.

"Here goes nothing. We are very proud to announce that we have signed to Vertigo Records. They will be releasing our debut album next year!" he wrote.

Not much else is known about the band, who also include Clouds/Hope Conspiracy member Jim Carroll, though NME reports that Carter had clashed with his ex-Gallows bandmates after telling them he wanted to move in a more straight-forward rock direction, à la Queens of the Stone Age.

But judging by the teaser clip below, which the band uploaded in the summer, Pure Love could be playing it ethereally. This could, however, just serve as an intro to something more rockin'.

In theory, all will be revealed at the band's first gig, which takes place February 14 at London's Bush Hall.
