Michael Todd, the former bassist for Coheed and Cambria, has been sentenced to one year of home confinement and three years' probation after pleading guilty to the armed robbery of a pharmacy in Attleboro, MA, last July.
Sentencing took place this Monday (June 11) at the Fall River Superior Court in Massachusetts. Todd was accused of entering a Walgreens, approaching a pharmacist and showing the employee a message on his BlackBerry stating he had a bomb, and demanded prescription drugs. Following the heist, Todd returned to Coheed and Cambria's concert at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA.
Todd was kicked out of the group shortly after the incident.
Since the robbery, Todd has been in a drug rehabilitation program, and at the sentencing, Judge Renee Dupuis ordered he keep up the treatment.
"He has been in very intensive drug treatment without being required to do so in order to overcome his addiction and not relapse," Todd's lawyer Jason Benzaker told Attleboro's the Sun Chronicle.
In other Coheed and Cambria news, the band are apparently working with producers Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner on a follow-up to 2010's Year of the Black Rainbow, though a due date has yet been unveiled.
