Eugene Ripper Hits the Road This Fall, Releases New Album

Eugene Ripper Hits the Road This Fall, Releases New Album
After decades in the biz, Canadian punk vet Eugene Ripper is still going strong. This fall, the self-described "fast folk" singer is hitting the road in support of a new album called Hangman, which arrives Saturday (October 4).

The tour schedule by the Stark Naked & the Fleshtones icon runs for more than two months from early October to mid-November. In that time, the tunesmith will play a fairly modest 11 shows. This includes a few gigs in Germany, some in the UK and five here in Canada, with a number of fairly substantial breaks in the schedule. See the itinerary below.

The October 4 show in Toronto will function as a CD release party for Hangman. The album is part compilation, part new studio album, as it combines new and old material. The release is strategically timed just ahead of the European tour, since some of the earlier songs were never released overseas.

Scroll past the tour schedule to hear a stream of the entire album. Also below, check out a video for the lead single "Hangman." It's a dusty, gruff and gritty acoustic number, while the video gives it a sense of theatrical drama.
