Woeful woodwinds and sinister strings swell up through the damned dreary "Postcard from a Dead Colleague," while "The 447" plays the Carpenter card with its ominous, mind-bendingly minimalist synth oscillations. If you feel like braving a ride on the back of the titular dark horse of "The Coal Black Stag" you'll apparently have to be okay with daunting doom-country arrangements and the frightening clink of a ferrier's iron.
