These four Yorkshire lads delivered a jittery blend of infectious pop and ballsy rock. Despite complaints of jet lag, lack of sound check (which is common in these festivals) and rental equipment problems, their set was a hooky, frenetic indie rock treat. Like their North England mates the Futureheads and Arctic Monkeys, Ernest bring an odd-metered staccato to the Telecaster twang that bristles with… well, with importance (sorry, couldn’t resist).
