Erasure Box Set Out in April

Erasure Box Set Out in April
Erasure fans out to relive the duo's glory days will have a lot to keep them busy this spring. Rhino has announced that the reissue-loving label will release Total Pop! - The First 40 Hits, a career-spanning box set that on April 7 will give fans four discs of flamboyant synth pop action.

Disc one of the box is a newly remastered version of 1992's singles compilation Pop! - The First 20 Hits, which includes such '80s night favourites as "Chains of Love," "A Little Respect" and "Victim of Love." The second disc will include 19 singles from 1994 to 2007 and the third will feature 15 songs recorded live from 1987 to 2007, including a 1992 cover of Abba's "Voulez Vous" and a 2006 acoustic rendition of "Breathe." As for that final disc, it will come as a DVD packed full of Erasure's TV appearances from 1986 to 2005, gathering up performances aired on such programs as Top of the Pops and Later with Jools Holland, as well as a 2003 promo vid for "Oh L'Amour."

And if four discs of Erasure weren't already enough, Rhino is also releasing the digital-only Pop! remix album on April 7th, which features redoes by the likes of Clarke, Manhattan Clique and Sweden's Sound Factory. What's more, if you pre-order Total Pop! - The First 40 Hits over here, you'll instantly get MP3 downloads of the Vox Mix of "Sugar Hill," an early recording of "Worlds On Fire," an unreleased version of "Chains Of Love" and the original version of "Early Bird." You'll also get a set of three Pop! postcards and be entered in a draw to win Andy Bell's white "Elvis costume" from "The Erasure Show" tour and one of five signed copies of the non-deluxe version of the set, which only includes the first two CDs.
