Erasure Announce New Album, Fall North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 20, 2011

It's been an exciting year for Vincent Clarke. Last week, the synth-pop pioneer announced an upcoming techno project with his former Depeche Mode buddy Martin Gore, the first time the pair had worked on new music since Clarke left the outfit in 1981. If that weren't enough, Clarke's other band, the always infectious popsmiths Erasure, have some new tunes on the way as well.

Erasure will be dropping the new disc, titled Tomorrow's World, this fall on Mute. It's their first record since 2007's Light at the End of the World. While a tracklisting has yet to be revealed, the album was written by band members Clarke and Andy Bell at Clarke's cabin studio in Maine and recorded in Maine, London and Los Angeles in spurts this year with producer Frankmusik (Lady Gaga, Pet Shop Boys). Using a number of vintage synths, the set is said to be "contemporary and classic at the same time."

What's even more exciting is that the synth duo will be making their way over to North America for the first time in five years this fall. Regrettably, only one Canadian stop is scheduled, taking place at Toronto's Sound Academy. Check out the details below.

UPDATE: Tomorrow's World is due out October 4 in North America and a day earlier in the UK.
