Long-running UK synth-pop act Erasure first gave word back in May that their follow-up to last year's Christmas-themed Snow Globe, The Violet Flame, would be dropping August 23 in North America and a day earlier overseas via Mute. Continuing the British outfit's track record of delivering consistently boisterous and buoyant beats, "Elevation" finds Vincent Clarke and Andy Bell toying with Ibiza-ready drum fills, vintage synths and romantic vocals to create a hook-laden number that recalls the crystalline production and atmosphere of late '90s electronica.
