Envy Reunite with Tetsuya Fukagawa, Share Two New Songs

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 2, 2018

Japanese post-hardcore greats Envy had an uncertain future in 2016 when frontman Tetsuya Fukagawa parted ways with the band. Fortunately, things have changed — Fukagawa is back, the band's lineup has been reinvigorated, and they've got two brand new songs, with more on the way.

Today (November 2), the band released a two-song EP called Alnair in August through their longtime label Temporary Residence Ltd.

The songs both point to Envy's past, with "Dawn and Gaze" offering a seven-minute build and "Marginalized Thread" delivering a more to-the-point blast of vintage skramz.

Listen to both Alnair in August tracks below. Envy will release a new album in 2019.
