Enslaved Announce "Winter Rite 2013" North American Tour with Pallbearer and Ancient VVisdom

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 7, 2012

Norwegian progressive metal visionaries Enslaved just dropped jaws with their recent 12th studio album RIITIIR, which we called "vast and breathtaking," and the extreme metal vets will descend upon North America next year to promote it.

The band will undergo a near month-long trip this winter called "Winter Rite 2013" that has them hitting up both sides of the U.S./Canada border with Pallbearer and Ancient VVisdom. First, they'll head to Philadelphia and make their way around the U.S., but the second half of the trip finds them travelling up north, with Canadian dates running between Vancouver and Montreal, before dipping back down for a couple more Stateside gigs.

In a statement, Enslaved's Ivar Bjørnson said, "North America has become like a second home-shore to us; the rising support we've been getting for the last albums and tours has been amazing! We're more than ready to come over again and play our new album, RIITIIR, live to show that the new material is extremely well-fitted for a live setting, and to reflect the enthusiasm and dedication we've been getting from the fans over there!"
