Enabler

All Hail the Void

BY Bradley Zorgdrager Published Jul 17, 2012

Everything has come full circle for Enabler. Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy, Racetraitor), who released the band's first LP on his Fuck City label, is now drumming on All Hail the Void, his first full-length with the band, after a couple of splits. Although Hurley's previous stint in Fall Out Boy might breed concern for a softer album, fans can rest assured that the only remnant of his softer side is the infectious nature of the songs. From the opening acoustic passage of "F.A.T.H." to the abrupt ending and subsequent ring-out on album closer "Funeral Dirge," Enabler have released the catchiest crusty, thrashy slab of metal-tinged hardcore this year or even beyond. However, Enabler manage to maintain their ferocity, as the sheer velocity of tracks, including "Fuck Today" and "False Profit," play off the more down-tempo title track to mercilessly beat the songs out of your head. All Hail the Void, indeed.
