Lorely Rodriguez makes music under the moniker Empress Of, and she's ready to introduce herself to the world on her debut album Me.
The record is due out on September 11 through Terrible Records. As its title might imply, Rodriguez wrote, recorded and produced the album by herself over the course of 2014.
She's also shared a new lyric video for "Kitty Kat." The track highlights Rodriguez's vocal versatility, moving from fragile falsetto into a chorus that hears her belting powerfully and emotionally. Her voice is backed by an aggressive, pulsating beat that manages to be both forebodingly dark and catchy at the same time, while the video features the song's words scrawled across postcards and notebook pages.
In addition to the album announcement and new clip, Empress Of has revealed a set of upcoming North American tour dates. The string of shows follows a three-nigh residency in London, UK, and will include Canadian stops in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
