Empire of the Sun to Play Toronto on First North American Tour
While Luke Steele has more than a few albums to keep him busy, his Aussie electro psych outfit Empire of the Sun is set to embark on their first-ever tour of North America. This summer, fans can count on at least four North American dates from Steele's project, including an appearance at this year's Lollapalooza festival.

As Spinner reports, Empire of the Sun will take their scant tour through New York, Los Angeles and the band's first and only Canadian stop in Toronto.

The duo will play Toronto's Sound Academy before hitting Terminal 5 in New York and the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (April 30) for Toronto and New York, while the Los Angeles show goes on sale Saturday (May 1).

The band's shows, according to front-man Luke Steele, will be entertaining and theatrical. "I've kind of designed the show as a movie," he told Spinner. "There's narration and there's a lot of dance, and so it kind of takes you on a journey."

Empire of the Sun are still riding the wave of success from the project's 2008 debut Walking on a Dream.

Tour dates:

8/6 Chicago, IL - Grant Park, Lollapalooza
8/8 Toronto, ON - Sound Academy
8/9 New York, NY - Terminal 5
