As Australian costume party crashers Empire of the Sun kick off their North American tour, they've given audiences at home a taste of what to expect from the gigs by unveiling a five-song video EP from a recent gig at the Sydney Opera House.
Live at the Sydney Opera House consists of video footage of five live cuts, which are full of backup dancers, glamourous outfits and glitzy psych-pop. Most of the songs come from this year's Ice on the Dune LP, but there's also the single "We Are the People" from 2008's Walking on a Dream.
The video EP's first cut, "DNA," is being released as the latest single from Ice on the Dune. On September 24, it will be released in a bundle featuring new remixes from Calvin Harris, Alex Metric, Brodinski and more. A music video will premiere on September 5.
