Earlier this spring, Eminem shared the trailer for Southpaw, a Jake Gyllenhaal boxing flick from Training Day director Antoine Fuqua. The clip featured a snippet of his new track "Phenomenal," but that's not Em's only involvement in the film. In fact, he's heavily involved in its entire soundtrack.

A press release explains that Eminem will serve as executive producer for the film's soundtrack. The release will feature new songs created for and inspired by the film, and will arrive via the rapper's Shady Records imprint.

"We have been involved in developing Southpaw since its inception and Eminem has dedicated himself to ensuring that this film captured his passion for the project through his music," Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg said. "We've assembled a great soundtrack to accompany what's sure to be one of the finest boxing films ever."

A brief snippet of "Phenomenal" can be heard in the Southpaw trailer below. In addition to Gyllenhaal, the film features Rachel McAdams, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Forest Whitaker, Rita Ora, Tyrese Gibson and Victor Ortiz.

Southpaw hits theatres on July 24. Its soundtrack is also set for July, though a specific date has not been revealed.
