Last summer, the Bentway — the new public space underneath the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto — made its presence known with creative programming including the Bentway Block Party and weekly Sunday Socials.
This year, the Sunday Socials are back and bigger than ever: each Sunday in July and August will feature free, all-ages programming including food and drink, art installations and musical performances on the Exclaim! Stage.
The festivities kick off with the Bentway Block Party on July 7. The day-long event culminates in a trio of performances on the Exclaim! Stage, featuring indie rockers the Elwins, alt-popsters Ellevator and indie orchestra Common Deer.
The Block Party will also feature daytime performances by interdisciplinary artist Sean Martindale, New York-based skipping rope phenoms the Dynamic Diplomats of Double Dutch and local brass collective the Heavyweights Brass Band, along with DJ sets throughout the day by Jayemkayem.
The fun continues throughout the summer, with Exclaim! Stage performances by DijahSB, Birds of Bellwoods, Moscow Apartment, Bonjay, Adria Kain, Petra Glynt, Pony, Good Kid and more. Keep scrolling for the full schedule.
