Elvis Presley Gets Orchestral Makeover on New Album

Had Elvis Presley not died in 1977 at the age of 42, he would have turned 80 earlier this year. As part of the birthday celebrations for the King, some of his archival recordings are getting a symphonic overhaul on the album If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It's due out on October 30 through Legacy Recordings.

The lush orchestral parts were newly recorded at Abbey Road Studios with producers Don Reedman and Nick Patrick. Michael Buble added his vocals to a duet version of "Fever," Italian vocal trio Il Volo sang on "It's Now or Never," and legendary guitar Duane Eddy played on a couple of tracks.

The album includes famous cuts like "Love Me Tender," "In the Ghetto" and "Burning Love," plus a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge over Troubled Water." See the tracklist below.

Elvis' former wife Priscilla said in a statement, "This would be a dream come true for Elvis. He would have loved to play with such a prestigious symphony orchestra. The music…the force that you feel with his voice and the orchestra is exactly what he would have done."
