Elvis Costello detailed new album Hey Clockface earlier this month, and proclaimed that "We Are All Cowards Now" on a new single. Now, he's served up a B-side to that track called "Phonographic Memory."

The song is said to imagine "a post-war ceremony involving an archive recording of the voice of Orson Welles and someone identified only as 'President Swift.'" You can hear it below.

Like previously shared singles "Hetty O'Hara Confidential" and "No Flag," Costello recorded the track during a stay in Helsinki, Finland. A press release notes that a follow-up instalment to the song story will arrive in September.

Meanwhile, Hey Clockface arrives October 30 via Concord, and follows Costello's 2018 LP Look Now.
