Ellie Goulding Announces 'Halcyon' LP

Back in 2010, we noted that Ellie Goulding's debut album, Lights, showed a lot of potential. Soon, we may see that potential come to fruition when the Brit songstress releases her sophomore album. Entitled Halcyon, it's due out October 9 via Cherrytree/Interscope Records.

Goulding wrote all of the songs herself and co-produced the collection with Jim Elliot (Kylie Minogue, Ladyhawke). The bulk of the material was recorded in a converted barn in Hay Valley, England.

In a statement, Goulding said, "This album for me is a journey from dark into light from confusion to understanding. I didn't set out to write a breakup record but I think it became one."

The single "Anything Could Happen" will emerge online on August 13, with an official digital release following the week after on August 21. Until then, check out Goulding's recent cover of Active Child's "Hanging On" below.

That's the album cover above. Not only have reports indicated that Goulding and Skrillex are dating, they seem to be sharing a barber as well.
