Ellen Allien Announces 'LISm'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 7, 2013

Berlin-based electronic music explorer Ellen Allien's last LP Dust dropped to much acclaim back in 2010, and the soundscaper will finally follow up that record with a new full-length called LISm. It will arrive through her BPitch Control imprint on March 12.

A press release explains that the near 50-minute "musical journey through Ellen Allien's world" began as a piece that accompanied a dance performance from choreographers Alexandre Roccoli and Sevérine Rième at the Pompidou Centre in Paris in 2011. Following that performance, Allien opted to "revive and rework the piece," leaving some passages unchanged and others extended and re-envisioned.

You can stream an album teaser medley, which switches from gentle piano tinkling to minimalist electro pop to ambient chime work, down below.

Allien is also heading to North America later this month for a few shows and will stop in Canada for a concert at Montreal's Igloofest on January 24. You can peep the rest of the tour info down below.

Tour dates:

1/24 Montreal, QC - Igloofest
1/25 New York, NY - Warehouse
1/26 Miami, FL - Story
