Ell V Gore Line Up 'Sex Static' EP for Ben Cook's New Bad Actors Imprint

Goth-tinged punk crew Ell V Gore have steadily made a name for themselves in their native Toronto, and now the act are ready to show some hometown pride by dropping an EP via the new label Bad Actors, helmed by local bud Ben Cook (Fucked Up, Young Governor).

Ell V Gore's Sex Static EP will be the first release on Cook's newly minted imprint, and it's set to arrive on June 4. The four-song effort is described as sounding as if made by "four weirdos you'd meet at a pitch black, late night bizarre sex party beating their instruments half to death."

The troupe's "malicious" synth and guitar arrangements are apparently inspired by Wire and the Birthday Party, while vocalist Ell V is said to possess a voice that conjures the Cramps' Lux Interior and Swans' Michael Gira.

You can check out the band for yourself via a stream of "Lobotomy" down below.

Ell V Gore also have some shows coming up in Toronto, including a pair of gigs during NXNE, and you can see the schedule down below.
