Shadowy Toronto punks Ell V Gore are preparing to releasing their Sex Static EP through Ben Cook's Bad Actors imprint, and ahead of the June 4 release date, the whole thing is available to stream here on Exclaim.ca.
A press release awesomely describes the EP as "[sounding] like it was made by four weirdos you'd meet at a pitch-black, late-night bizarre sex party beating their instruments half to death."
These four songs take a surging, hypnotic approach to punk. "Her Vicious" sports a pulsing groove that's given a splash of droning background ambience, while "Lobotomy" is nightmarish and carnivalesque, and the closing "Death Strings (Los Angeles)" is slower and more atmospheric as it gradually swells with noisy intensity.
