Elephant Stone

"Knock You from Yr Mountain" (P.I.A. remix)

Psychedelic Montreal music makers Elephant Stone unveiled their latest record Three Poisons last month (via Hidden Pony) and now one of the album's tracks has received the remix treatment.

The group shared the lyric video for "Knock You from Yr Mountain" earlier this year, but now the track has been reworked by Peter Holmström of the Dandy Warhols (under the pseudonym P.I.A.). The new version pulls away from the hippie-esque classic rock of the original, opting instead for a glitch-y, danceable take on the track.

Elephant Stone frontman Rishi Dhir previously released the following statement about the message behind the song:

The song pretty much says what needs to be said. I look at the present state of the world; and it breaks my heart. I don't understand how the leaders of the world see corruption, murder, war, and deceit as a way to lead their people. They do not represent us, they seek to control us. We need a change. Will all the craziness happening in the world right, we felt it was an appropriate time to release "Knock You from Yr Mountain." I always hold onto the hope that one day mankind will realize that two wrongs do not make a right.

That positive outlook comes through on the spruced-up version of "Knock You Ffom Yr Mountain" courtesy of P.I.A., and you can hear it for yourself below. Scroll past the band's upcoming North American shows to give it a spin.
