Elephant 6's Major Organ and the Adding Machine Gets CD/DVD Release

Even if you're not quite sure what it is, there's a good chance that you're a fan of the mysterious Elephant 6 collective. The long-running group has been responsible for some major players in the psych-leaning indie pop scene including Neutral Milk Hotel, Of Montreal, the Olivia Tremor Control, Apples in Stereo and Elf Power. The latest venture from the group is a mysterious film called Major Organ and the Adding Machine.

The film was directed by Joey Foreman and Elephant 6 participant Eric Harris, and will be released on DVD this fall. Those expecting a look behind the scenes of this shrouded collective will be somewhat disappointed, as the trailer below indicates that this is a bizarre work of weirdo fiction.

The Major Organ and the Adding Machine DVD will also include deleted scenes, music videos, live performances and other goodies. The set will also come with a remastered double CD version of the 2001 album from the project called Major Organ and the Adding Machine.

Major Organ and the Adding Machine will be available from Orange Twin on September 14.
