Eight and a Half

"Scissors"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 19, 2011

A while back, Broken Social Scene's Justin Peroff announced his new spin-off project Eight and a Half, featuring Dave Hamelin and Liam O'Neil from now-defunct Montreal indie outfit the Stills. Now you can get a taste of what the new band sounds like with Eight and a Half's newly released track "Scissors."

More synth-heavy than any of the members' previous work, "Scissors" was mixed by John O'Mahony (Coldplay, Metric), who is reportedly working with the trio on their debut album, expected in early 2012. Peroff recently described the band's music in an interview with AUX, saying "It's got rock sensibilities, it's got pop sensibilities... It's pretty heavy."
