Edmonton's Freezing Man Festival Ropes in Broken Social Scene, Stars, Chromeo

Think of this as something like Edmonton's answer to Burning Man: on January 29, the city will play host to Freezing Man Festival, which will be held at the Edmonton Expo Centre.

The lineup offers an impressive selection of indie rock and electronic music. Alongside Canadian indie favourites Broken Social Scene and Stars are electro-leaning acts Chromeo, Kaskade, Major Lazer, Dragonette and Shout Out Out Out Out. The bill is rounded out by Canadian hip-hop icon K-OS.

The event is 18+, and it promises to be a packed evening -- despite there being eight performers, this Facebook event indicates that the doors don't open until 6 PM. Before the evening concert, there will be an outdoor festival with family activities.

Presale tickets are available now from Ticketweb, with the public sale beginning on Saturday (December 13). As this page points out, the presale password is "Bernie." Early bird concert passes are $75.60, while day passes for the (non-musical) outdoor festival are $10.50.
