Edmonton Metal Group Weapon Call it Quits

Edmonton-based group Weapon made some serious strides with their blackened death metal, gaining accolades worldwide and even scoring a deal with metal giant Relapse Records back in 2011. Now, however, after 10 years as a band, they've called it quits.

The quartet announced their departure with the following statement:

"The end of a melody is not its goal; but nonetheless, had the melody not reached its end it would not have reached its goal either. A parable." -
Friedrich Nietzsche.

And with the those words we announce the end of Weapon. There is no drama surrounding this decision: it is time for us collectively, and more importantly, as individuals, to move onwards and upwards towards other paradigms. We extend our gratitude to all who helped us succeed and of course send a massive "fuck you" to the ones who tried in vain to make us fail.

Blessed be ALL who bled for the Devil under the sign of W

Weapon released Embers and Revelations last year and followed it up with the Naga: Daemonum Praeteritum compilation earlier this year.
