It runs in the family! Eddie Vedder's daughter Olivia has made her recorded debut on a track co-written by Vedder, fittingly titled "My Father's Daughter."
The song appears on the soundtrack to Sean Penn's Flag Day, and you can hear snippets of the track in the film's newly released trailer below. Penn directs and stars in Flag Day alongside his daughter Dylan Penn. Josh Brolin, Katheryn Winnick, Regina King and more also star.
In a press release, Penn said, "After this flood of gorgeous songs from Cat Power, Glen Hansard, and Eddie Vedder, we were just about to do a final mix on the film when Ed sent me Olivia singing 'My Father's Daughter.' It became just the perfect cherry on top of the sundae."
The film's full soundtrack — scheduled for release alongside the film on August 20 — also features four new songs from Cat Power, including a cover of Icelandic folk musician KK's 2011 track "I Think of Angels." Most of the other tracks are duets between Eddie Vedder and Oscar-winner Glen Hansard, who co-wrote "My Father's Daughter."
