Eastern Shift

Various demos

Along with the announcement of Passion Pit's next LP earlier in the week, frontman Michael Angelakos has been posting unreleased tracks on SoundCloud under the moniker Eastern Shift. Since debuting a Barry Manilow cover a few days ago, he's gone ahead and uploaded another four tracks.

A demo snippet of "But Will He Love Me Like Calvin Loves Alice" presents a quick rush of pounding EDM-pop, while the more laid-back "Katie Croons" gels on a snap beat and playfully pitch-shifted sample of Kate Bush, taken from her The Sensual World track "This Woman's Work."

Elsewhere in his demos explosion, gospel tent soul is explored on the piano loop "Down (On Me)," while the Bette Midler-heavy "Higher Than a Damned Eagle" is the kind of track you might want to start streaming at the, ahem, Beaches.

You'll find all four tracks down below.
